How to pierce a bead for stringing
When you have all of your items ready including the type of string you wish to use it is now time to pierce the bead.

It is best to string the beads prior to firing or you can drill them after firing.

To pierce the bead you can use a skewer or needle.
  • Hold the bead with your finger and thumb
  • Poke a hole just about all the way through
  • Do not let the needle come out the other side
  • Withdraw the needle
  • Poke it through the other side
It is very important not to allow the needle to go completely through the polymer bead. This will prevent an unattractive lump of clay around the edges of the pierced hole.
